Title- Celadon Kettle Material- Ceramic, Celadon Porcelain Size- Height 16cm, Diameter of Mouth 9cm, Diameter of Bottom 12cm, Body 52cm Period- Koryo Dynasty This celadon piece follows the general form of a kettle except for the lid and handle. A potter’s wheel was used to make the body, but the mouth and the handle were maed by hand, giving it a rougher, less sophisticated look. On the body itself, touches of the potter’s wheel remain, but no pattern was applied. The handle, which was attached after the body was shaped, resembles a celadon ornament, but the mouth area is wide with no trace of a spout. The color of the lacquer has faded almost completely and it is impossible even to find a trace of it, though it was applied when it was made. This kettle has tremendous value to scientists and archaeologists because it was not seriously damaged and is in fact, very well preserved.
